Research a location used to mean ten browser tabs.
Finding a place to live — or understanding a place you already live — means bouncing between the Census Bureau, the CDC, the FBI crime database, FEMA flood maps, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, and a dozen other government sites. Each gives you one number. None gives you the full picture.
Panorama does all of that in one search. Type an address, city, or ZIP code and get a complete location profile built from 20+ live data sources, assembled in seconds.
20+ live data sources, organised into sections.
Every section in a Panorama profile is pulled fresh from its official source — not a stale database we maintain.

An AI summary that reads the data so you don't have to.
Once Panorama assembles your location profile, the AI Summary tab turns all that data into a plain-English briefing — strengths, trade-offs, and the headline numbers that matter most. Ask a follow-up question and it reasons over the real data already loaded.
Panorama uses Apple Intelligence on M-chip Macs (private, on-device) and falls back to OpenRouter so you can choose any model — GPT-4o, Claude, Gemini, or any open-weight model you prefer. You supply your own key; DataIsland never sees it.
Save locations. Build your shortlist.
Save any location to your list and build a side-by-side comparison of the places that matter to you. Profiles refresh on demand — tap Refresh and every data source re-fetches the latest numbers.
Siri and Apple Intelligence can open any saved location or answer questions about it ("What's the crime rate in my saved Austin location?") using the Panorama App Intent.
Saved locations
Pin any city, neighbourhood, or address. Your list travels with you — synced via iCloud.
Siri integration
Ask Siri to open a location profile or read you a summary. Works hands-free.
On-demand refresh
Data is fetched live, not cached forever. One tap re-pulls every source.
iPhone companion
View saved profiles on your iPhone. Full data, same sources, on the go.
Your searches stay on your device.
Panorama calls government and public data APIs directly from your Mac — there is no Panorama server in the middle. Saved profiles are stored locally and synced via your own iCloud. DataIsland never sees which locations you search.
API keys for optional services (Walk Score, FBI Crime, BEA, FRED) are stored only in your macOS Keychain. The AI summary uses Apple Intelligence on-device or your own OpenRouter key — no key is bundled in the app.
Simple, honest pricing.

Frequently asked questions
Where does the data come from?
Every data source in Panorama is a live call to an official public API — the US Census Bureau, CDC, FBI/NIBRS, FEMA, BLS, BEA, FRED, EIA, USGS, EPA EJScreen, Walk Score, World Bank, Statistics Canada, and others. Panorama assembles the results; it does not maintain its own database of location data.
Do I need to sign up or create an account?
No. Panorama has no account. Some optional data sources (Walk Score, FBI Crime, BEA, FRED) require free API keys from those providers — you add your key in Settings and it is stored only in your macOS Keychain. DataIsland never receives your keys.
Which AI models does Panorama support?
On Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 26 or later, Panorama uses Apple Intelligence for on-device AI summaries — completely private. For other Macs or if you prefer a cloud model, Panorama uses OpenRouter so you can choose any model: GPT-4o, Claude, Gemini, Llama, and more. You supply your own OpenRouter key.
Does Panorama work outside the US?
Yes. International locations use World Bank country indicators, Numbeo cost-of-living data, Teleport city scores, and WHO health data. UK locations add Met Police crime statistics. Canadian locations add Statistics Canada demographics. US-only sources (FEMA, CDC, BLS, BEA, FRED) are omitted automatically for non-US addresses.
Why do some sections show no data or an error?
Most Panorama data sources are US government APIs. Some block certain VPNs, proxies, or network tools like Cloudflare WARP. If you see errors in the FEMA, Crime, EIA, or BEA sections, try disabling any active VPN or proxy and tapping Retry. Each section has its own Retry button.
How current is the data?
Data is fetched live each time you search a location. Census data reflects the most recent ACS 5-year estimates. Crime data reflects the latest NIBRS release (typically one year behind). FRED, BLS, and BEA data reflects their most recent published releases. Climate and environmental data is updated annually by the respective agencies.
Is there an iPhone app?
Yes — Panorama Pro includes an iPhone companion app. Your saved location profiles sync via iCloud so you can browse them anywhere. The iPhone app is a viewer; new searches are done on the Mac.
Is there a subscription?
No. Panorama Pro is a one-time purchase of $29.99. All future updates to the current major version are included. No renewal fees, no account required.
